Rounded Corners Comparison
Alessandro Fulciniti, the author of Nifty Corners Cube (currently points to www.html.it… but is correct), made a nice overview in Italian of the different possibilities you have for rounded corners on your web page. Here’s the link to his entry translated to english via Google Translate. It’s almost possible to understand what he’s writing about ;-).

No driving rules
If you wanna know how traffic is like on Bali, check out this video on YouTube.com. It’s from India, but there is no difference to Bali regarding the way people behave on the street ;-). [tags]bali, india, traffic[/tags]
Bali and RuzeeBorders
Bali is so beautiful, relaxing, exciting – the memories I have are almost unbelieveable. Rafting, snorkeling, driving and sitting around watching the locals – all that I can recommend to you.
But Bali is known for its bombings, which is something incredibly bad for the people there who rely on the tourism. And the island is so much worth visiting. Take London. Bombings as well, and much more – but still, do you care about that when thinking about giving London a visit? Guess you do not – you live in a large city anyway that may also be the place for a terror attack. So London is ok… Same risk as everywhere else… And the same is true for Bali. Except that tourists think different. And the people there are losing their jobs… Well enough on that. Think I made my point.
Where did I stop, yes, the unbelieveable memories I have. Usually watching the holiday pictures helps believing, but … not for me on these holidays … my camera has been stolen the last day at the airport :-(. But I still have those nice memories :-).
When returing home I still had some days before going back to my office (which is tomorrow) so I had some time working on RuzeeBorders. And guess what: Version 0.5 is out and supports turning off the rounding/shadow of the borders on some edges/corners.

RuzeeBorder v0.4
I didn’t like the large version bump I introduced with 0.30. There was 0.1, then 0.2, then 0.30 – huh? Well I renamed 0.1 to 0.10 and 0.2 to 0.20 and … Ah, now the official version history is 0.1, 0.2, 0.30, 0.4. Yes. But hey, what’s new in version 0.4? Here we go:
- No more “flipping” – RuzeeBorder now leaves the layout as it is by modifying
the padding of your DIVs. This results in a much cleaner site impression.
But… it seems to buggy on IE. - Support for classes via “.classname” (rzGetElementsByClass is no longer needed,
see example.html) - Support for XHTML pages
Get the new version at the RuzeeBorders page.

Pachelbel’s Canon Remixed
I just found this remix of Johann Pachelbel‘s Canon in D on YouTube. I like that one, it’s based on a korean instrument, a guy doing the beat with his voice, another one DJing around while a third one is breakdancing. Check it out:
Btw.: Seems I’m in a blogging mood today ;-).

RuzeeBorders v0.30
The new version of RuzeeBorders now has a work around for the white boxes in Safari. It also contains the first lines of code to support transparent colors. Just to give a taste of what is coming next ๐ [tags]ruzeeborders, … Continued
Quake 3 on 24 screens
I’ve played Quake 2 on a beamer once. The resolution was 800 by 600 pixels in those days – which was some really special. But imagine playing Quake 3 at 10240 by 3072. Yes, the numbers are correct. No mistake. Not a zero to much or something. Approx 10K by 3K pixels. On a screen the size of the largest wall in your room. A matter for a heart attack? Yeah, I guess so. Some stupid story from the future? No: This guy is doing it right now. With 24 monitors and 12 Linux servers rendering everything. But hey, if I had these LCDs and machines, I wouldn’t have any other idea what to do with them ๐ Well, except viewing my blog at the some-K resolution as well, of course…

CeBIT
I’ll be at the CeBIT from tomorrow on. I guess I won’t be able to respond to any messages/comments for about two weeks. Enjoy your stay on my site during my absence :-). [tags]cebit[/tags]
JavaScript Raytracer
Yep, right, a whole raytracer written in JavaScript. The UI is ok: you can add objects, light sources, and so on, to your scene and render it on the page. There is no server interaction as far as I’ve seen. … Continued
