Nested Canvas-es Do not render correctly

After playing with this plugin for some time, It doesn't seem like it is possible to render a canvas element within another canvas element, and have the net effect be good.

I'm new to Jquery, but very familliar with HTML, JS, CSS etc. If someone knows conceptually what is causing the nesting problem, (maybe css inheritance?) Please let me know what you think is happening.
