Yahoo, del.icio.us, and Google
On Slashdot, I just read something funny in the Yahoo/del.icio.us discussion: Someone wrote a Google Desktop plugin that went online right before the announcement. Sad guy - I guess Google will remove the thing in the next hours/days from their site… Well, here’s a screenshot - maybe some rarity in the future ![]()
Hi, the name's Steffen and I'm writing about the Web, programming
and all those things coming to my mind. Enjoy your stay.

Hey Steffen, I’m the sad guy!
Well, not so sad, actually. I don’t think Google will ask to remove it — it just doesn’t work that way out there. If it’s a good product, they won’t mind letting it stay.
An example: Google for “GOOG” (their stock symbol); it brings up a Yahoo! Finance page even above the real first search result.
But yes, it is ironic!
The plugin was already submitted to Google and in testing before the Yahoo! announcement happened.
